I was watching a recording of The Killers' set at the 2009 oxegen festival in Ireland last night. Words cannot describe just how much I love the feather-shoulder-padded jacket Brandon Flowers has been wearing since the 'Human' music video. I mean, look at it, it's fabulous!

He is no doubt (in my opinion, at least) one of the best dressed rock muscians right now. I loooove it. I love the feathers so much that I wouldn't mind having a feathers-inspired look of my own. Maybe not in the form of a tuxedo jacket, though. A feather capelet would be amazing. I reckon it would be great for dressing up a simple black or white dress. From boring to eclectic with the fastening of a ribbon. Luckily for me, when I googled 'feather capelet', this picture came up from a fashion blog:

Absolutely beautiful! It turns out that it's by an Australian label calld Lucette. But that blog post is from way back in February so I don't think I'll find it very easily. BUT with any luck, a few of them might be hanging on a rack, heaaaavily reduced. Here's to hoping!

Writer's Block: Proven by Science [Aug. 12th, 2009|09:01 pm]

Do you believe everything has a scientific explanation?

No. I believe that a lot of things that occur in nature can be explained by science but there are so many things about humankind that just can't. There is no equation or law that can prove the power of the human spirit, to explain why we feel things or why we do things that seem irrational. I think there is more to life than cold facts.

Writer's Block: Birthday Shout-out [Jul. 31st, 2009|08:31 pm]

Happy birthday, J.K. Rowling! Which of her seven Harry Potter novels do you think is the most satisfying read?

My personal favourite is the Half-Blood Prince because I love that we actually learn about Voldemort's past and realise that he was once a mere child (a weird little one at that but a child nonetheless). I also liked Prisoner of Azkaban because of the whole Time Turner arc and we also see Harry becoming a more competent wizard. I did not, however, like the Sirius storyline. I wasn't very fond of his character. Wow, I'm such a Potter dork.

Behind every great couple, there's often a great story. What's the best (nonfiction) how-we-met story you've heard?

If you could only eat one kind of cuisine—Mexican, Thai, French, Italian, Indian, Chinese, etc.—for the rest of your life, which one would you choose?

THAI. It's so diverse and delicious. Or maybe Vietnamese because there's so many different kinds of dishes given the different climates in the North and South.
